A Boeing 767-300 aeroplane with 334 passengers on board landed at Sanya Phoenix International Airport on Oct 8, marking the official opening of a scheduled flight route between the Hainan tourist city and St Petersburg in Russia.
The route is expected to boost mutual trade and tourism between the two cities, as well as help Sanya build a denser international air route network.
